Wince updating registry values

One thing I strive to do is keep all of our h/w on the same OS version. The h/w doesn't change that much (x86 based touchscreen), but sometimes you just have to revise the OS deployed in the field.HTML deals with fonts, colors, graphics, and hyperlinks, while CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed.Oh, okay, we're on two different tracks, sorry about that. We have a 3rd party vendor supply us with the OS and h/w.I have a deployed application based on Windows CE 5.0. Long ago I learned that the OS is wedded to the registry, if the OS changes, the registry files *must* be from the new OS, else the device will not boot. On rare occasions, the OS must be updated, and herein lies my problem. The device is CF flash based, the OS runs out of RAM, so my upgrade process replaces the OS image and the registry files (user.hv, system.hv).The purpose of computers in order to be equipped to do super human things at super human rates of speed. If your computer isn't adequate to or above your brain's capabilities, a person definitely are by using a caveman computer pc.
so either I don't understand the overall process, or you're trying to do something else. And of course you need registry, be it hive-based or file-based, there is no question about that.
